The North Texas Aeromodelers, in co-operation with The City of Denton Parks Department Welcomes YOU to North Lakes Park Model Airplane Flying Field!
Flying and building Radio Controlled Model Aircraft is a thrilling, challenging, and skill-oriented sport for all ages. It offers a healthy, educational, and fun environment in which to interact socially with a wide variety of age groups and professional backgrounds. At our gatherings, you will see teenagers side by side with the pioneers and heroes of aviation history, together experiencing the thrill of model aviation.
The objective of the North Texas Aeromodelers R/C club is to promote the sport of radio control modeling. To achieve this goal we maintain the flying site at North Lakes Park in Denton, sponsor various modeling activities throughout the year, and promote learning and safety. The club is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Gold Leader Chartered Club (#1659). Visit the AMA's website at www.modelaircraft.org .\

Introductory Flight Training Program
To introduce prospective aeromodelers to the thrill and excitement of flying radio controlled aircraft, the club (along with the generous support of our local Hobby Shops), is sponsoring an introductory flight program. The club will provide the model, radio, fuel and a qualified trainer; all you have to do is bring yourself!! Introductory Flights are free and highly encouraged! Everyone is welcome to "give it a try"!
Basic Flight Training Program
Once you have your own aircraft, our expert instructors will teach you to fly with confidence and safety. Learn at your own pace. We will take you step by step through your first solo flight. Free to all club members.
Getting Started
Although you may like to start out with high performance aerobatic aircraft, you must resist temptation. Learning to fly R/C aircraft requires a good trainer plane and lots of practice. Many kits and ARF (almost-ready-to-fly) models are available as trainers.
Be sure to visit your local Hobby Shop (or come by the North Texas Aeromodelers field)for advice and personal assistance, and to see the latest items available!
When:
Most every Saturday or Sunday weather permitting, Feel free to contact an instructor to schedule a time during the week.
Note: Winds in excess of 20 mph are not considered good days to train.

Hobbico's NexSTAR comes as an ARF either as electric or Nitro. The NexSTAR ARF allows modelers to use the radio and engine of their choice. It's a top-of-the-line trainer that not only looks better, flies better and teaches better...it also offers more flexibility! Still the most advanced training system EVER — with many special features.

The Alpha Trainer ARF comes out of the box 90% prebuilt and you can be out at the flying field in only a few, short evenings. The Alpha kit also includes large wheels to make ground handling easy, whether your flying field has a paved runway or grass.

PTS stands for Progressive Trainer System—groundbreak-ing new technology that allows pilots to progress from learning to fly to performing sport aerobatics without having to upgrade or buy a new airplane. Clear plastic NACA droops attach to the outer edges of the wing, providing beginners with extra stability during training and manipulating the stock airfoil to produce added lift. The fixed landing gear features a special speed brake system that keeps the flying speed down, making the Mustang easy to handle. 2-position flaps add drag, and can be later upgraded to functioning flaps by adding a servo.
